Cynthia is exceptionally knowledgeable about the proper alignment and positioning of the body, is detail oriented in every exercise, and is able to work with each individuals physical restrictions.

Cynthia at Brace Point Pilates is experienced and knowledgeable about the benefits of Pilates. I have been a client now for about a year and it has helped me to tone my body and improve my posture. The greatest benefit has been how it helps me manage the challenges of MS. My overall health and well being has greatly improved.

Cynthia at Brace Point Pilates knows just how to challenge me without hurting me. Coming to Pilates a little later in life (60's) I appreciate Cynthia's years of experience and her efforts to find specific exercises to fit my physical problems. I was delighted to find improvements in my balance after only a couple of months and my body showed toning and strength faster than I had imagined! My Pilates sessions have become an important part of my schedule.

I was recently diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis and have been taking Pilates lessons from Cynthia twice a week for about 2 months. The results have been remarkable. In just this short time I am experiencing better posture, better walking and more stability. I plan to continue with her and would recommend her to anyone who struggles with physical challenges. She is patient, kind and very knowledgable.

What I like about Brace Point Pilates is the attention to detail. I've learned so much about my posture and the way to carry out movements as efficiently as possible with least amount of harm. Cynthia gives great tips and exercises extraordinary patience until I understand the exercise and its purpose. I've gotten so much more from her hourly sessions than I ever got from yoga.

Finding Brace Point Pilates has been an amazing experience. Not only is it within walking distance, it is one-on-one classes that are not embarrassing even for a beginner. Cynthia provides tailored instruction with incredible attention to correct form and I love that each session is individualized to my needs. Cynthia at Brace Point Pilates is a caring, knowledgeable instructor and I love how my body is becoming more flexible without back pain!

I feel very fortunate to have Cynthia as my Pilates instructor. I have had the privilege of working with other instructors but I find that she is the best fit for me. My sessions with Cynthia are welcoming and rewarding. She has an amazing breath of knowledge that enables her to design Pilates sessions that are doable and also challenging. Her explanations are clear and delivered with warmth and humor. I noticed results after only a few sessions and continue to see results and improvement after every session. I recommend Cynthia to anyone who is serious about taking care of their bodies.

Cynthia Jordan

Founder and Lead Instructor

Cynthia began her ballet training in South Bend, IN and continued in Chicago, Boston, New York, Seattle and London, England. She has a BA in Dance from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts, and was one of 25 ballet dancers chosen for the first Jacob’s Pillow summer dance program. Cynthia performed with the Spokane Ballet and UW Chamber Dance Company dancing works by Paul Taylor and Mark Morris.

Cynthia taught ballet and Pilates to professional dancers, ballet school students and the general public at Pacific Northwest Ballet for 12 years, and for several years at ARC School of Ballet. She has an MFA in Dance from the University of Washington.

Cynthia is certified in STOTT PILATES® Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced repertoire on all equipment – Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, Mat and Injuries and Special Populations. She has studied and received tutelage from two highly regarded names in the Pilates community: Elizabeth Larkam and Karen Clippinger. Cynthia is also a certified Functional Range Conditioning mobility specialist.

In addition to her initial V2Max Reformer (which converts into a Cadillac), her studio now has the Stability Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector and Arc Barrel. This range of equipment allows for a far greater range of programming possibilities. The studio also has a TRX.

STOTT PILATES® is a contemporary approach to the original exercise method pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates. Along with a team of physical therapists, sports medicine and extremely diligent fitness professionals, they have refined the method of exercise and equipment. This resulted in the inclusion of modern principles of exercise science and spinal rehabilitation, making it one of the safest and effective methods available. This clear and detailed approach forms the basis for STOTT PILATES training and certification programs. It’s used by rehab and prenatal clients, athletes, celebrities and everyone in between.
