Cynthia Jordan
Founder and Lead Instructor
Cynthia began her ballet training in South Bend, IN and continued in Chicago, Boston, New York, Seattle and London, England. She has a BA in Dance from Mount Holyoke College in Massachusetts, and was one of 25 ballet dancers chosen for the first Jacob’s Pillow summer dance program. Cynthia performed with the Spokane Ballet and UW Chamber Dance Company dancing works by Paul Taylor and Mark Morris.
Cynthia taught ballet and Pilates to professional dancers, ballet school students and the general public at Pacific Northwest Ballet for 12 years, and for several years at ARC School of Ballet. She has an MFA in Dance from the University of Washington.
Cynthia is certified in STOTT PILATES® Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced repertoire on all equipment – Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, Barrels, Mat and Injuries and Special Populations. She has studied and received tutelage from two highly regarded names in the Pilates community: Elizabeth Larkam and Karen Clippinger. Cynthia is also a certified Functional Range Conditioning mobility specialist.
In addition to her initial V2Max Reformer (which converts into a Cadillac), her studio now has the Stability Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector and Arc Barrel. This range of equipment allows for a far greater range of programming possibilities. The studio also has a TRX.
STOTT PILATES® is a contemporary approach to the original exercise method pioneered by the late Joseph Pilates. Along with a team of physical therapists, sports medicine and extremely diligent fitness professionals, they have refined the method of exercise and equipment. This resulted in the inclusion of modern principles of exercise science and spinal rehabilitation, making it one of the safest and effective methods available. This clear and detailed approach forms the basis for STOTT PILATES training and certification programs. It’s used by rehab and prenatal clients, athletes, celebrities and everyone in between.
